Super Alloy 718 cold reduced nickel bar is a precipitation hardening nickel-chromium alloy containing significant amounts of columbium, aluminum, molybdenum and titanium. This alloy is a multiple melted material starting with vacuum induction melt (VIM) followed by a vacuum arc remelt (VAR) or electroslag remelt (ESR) for premium cleanliness. The alloy is cold worked after solution annealing and is typically used for high strength fasteners requiring a room temperature minimum tensile strength of 220 ksi after precipitation hardening. This material is typically used at temperatures up to 900 F. This grade has oxidation resistance up to 1800 F. It maintains its high strength, oxidation, and corrosion resistance while maintaining its superior ductility under extreme environments. In both traditional and age-hardened states, the parts can be machined, spark eroded, welded, micro shot-peened, polished and coated if required. Inconel 718 is used in many industries for critical applications including aerospace, defense, cyogenic applications, and petrochemical. (UNS N07718)
