718 Vac Melt Solution Treated - Super Alloy - Fry Steel

Super Alloy / 718 VM SOL TRT

Super Alloy 718 solution annealed nickel bar is a precipitation hardening nickel-chromium alloy containing significant amounts of columbium, aluminum, molybdenum and titanium. This alloy is a multiple melted material starting with vacuum induction melt (VIM) followed by a vacuum arc remelt (VAR) or electroslag remelt (ESR) for premium cleanliness. This material is typically used at temperatures up to 900 F. This grade has oxidation resistance up to 1800 F. It maintains its high strength, oxidation, and corrosion resistance while maintaining its superior ductility under extreme environments. Parts built from Inconel 718 can be easily post-hardened through precipitation-hardening heat treatments and cold working. In both traditional and age-hardened states, the parts can be machined, spark eroded, welded, micro shot-peened, polished and coated if required. Inconel 718 is used in many industries for critical applications including aerospace, defense, cyogenic applications, and petrochemical. (UNS N07718)
