AERMET 100

Aermet 100 is a premium aircraft-quality martensitic alloy produced with a multiple melt process using vacuum induction melting followed by vacuum arc remelting. This alloy is typically used for heat-treated parts requiring a combination of high hardness and strength combined with exceptional ductility and toughness. This material provides high fracture toughness and great resistance to stress corrosion cracking/fatigue up to 800 (427). Aermet 100 requires a minimum tensile strength of 280 KSI (1930 MPa). This product is weldable requiring no preheating. This grade is not a corrosion-resistant alloy, so it must be sealed if used in a moist environment. This alloy is often used to produce landing gears, armor, fasteners, actuators, jet engine shafts, drive shafts, and structural tubing. (UNS K92580)
