MP35N is a vacuum induction melted (VIM), vacuum arc re-melted (VAR) superalloy with cobalt and nickel as its primary alloying elements. This alloy is typically used for applications requiring a combination of high strength, toughness, ductility, and exceptionally good corrosion resistance after aging. The material resists corrosion in hydrogen sulphide, salt water and other chloride solutions. It also has excellent resistance to crevice and stress corrosion cracking in sea water and other hostile environments. This alloy is often work-strengthened and ages to obtain strength levels of 260 to 300ksi. MP35N is used to produce fasteners, tie rods, marine equipment, petro chemical equipment, racing engines and medical devices. (UNS R30035)
